ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan suffered 46 more COVID deaths on January 17 while 1,920 new infections were recorded, registering a positivity rate of 5.06%, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).
In the last 24 hours, Punjab registered 23 deaths, Sindh 18, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) 4, and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 1.
The latest statistics released by the NCOC on Monday morning said that 37,949 tests were conducted for Coronavirus across the Country on January 17, and 1,920 of them turned out to be positive.
The NCOC data said that so far 10,997 COVID deaths have been registered in the Country including 4,432 in Punjab, 3,793 in Sindh, 1,783 in KPK, 241 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 457 in Islamabad, 190 in Balochistan, and 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Likewise, out of 521,211 COVID Cases detected so far in the Country, 235,576 emerged in Sindh, 149,782 in Punjab, 63,615 in KPK, 40,111 in ICT, 18,612 in Balochistan, 8,631 in AJK, and 4,884 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far a total of 475,228 COVID people have been recovered across Pakistan.
The data also said that as of January 18, the total of 34,986 infected persons are under treatment across Pakistan, and of them, 2,849 are admitted in 631 hospitals with COVID facilities.
