NCOC to formulate response to possible COVID-19 resurgence

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has decided to review the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the Country and formulate a comprehensive response to deal with any possible resurgence of the pandemic to ensure public health and safety.

The NCOC meeting was held in Islamabad on Thursday with the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in the Chair.

The forum decided that the review report will be shared with all stakeholders for their input and after consensus; the implementation strategy will be issued in the next few days.

In his remarks in the meeting, Asad Umar emphasized that public safety is of utmost importance. The minister said that success of national anti-COVID efforts should not be allowed to go waste. As per the NCOC data, 583 people tested positive for Coronavirus across the Country on October 7 and 9 lost their lives. So far a total of 316,934 people have been infected by COVID-19 in the Country and 6,544 have died of it. As of October 8, the total active COVID-19 Cases in Pakistan remain 8,015.

In his remarks in the meeting, Asad Umar emphasized that public safety is of utmost importance.

The minister said that the success of national anti-COVID efforts should not be allowed to go waste.
