PM Imran Khan inaugurates Isolation Hospital & Infectious Treatment Centre

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday inaugurated the 250-bedded Isolation Hospital & Infectious Treatment Center (IHITC) in Islamabad.

The patients of Coronavirus and other infectious diseases will be treated at the state-of-the-art medical facility.

The hospital has been constructed in record 40 days at a cost of about Rs 980 million.

It will meet additional requirements to ease pressure from the Federal Capital’s hospitals.

The Isolation Hospital & Infectious Treatment Centre’s charge has been handed over to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The Chairman NDMA Lt. General Muhammad Afzal briefed the prime minister about the isolation hospital.

Talking to media after inaugurating the health facilities, Prime Minister Imran Khan commended the completion of the modern Isolation Hospital in a record short period, and said that important tasks can be completed with political will.

The prime minister expressed satisfaction that with the cooperation of all the departments concerned the curve of Coronavirus Cases in the Country is on the decline.

Imran Khan also appealed to the nation to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with simplicity, strictly observing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) against the virus. He said that any carelessness on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha will lead to a fresh spike in the Coronavirus Cases.

The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
