ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi departed for Kenya on Tuesday morning for a two-day visit to participate in the “Pak-Africa Trade Development Conference”.

The Prime Minister’s Adviser for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood will preside over the Conference being organized in Nairobi as part of the Ministry of Commerce’s “Look Africa Policy Initiative”. Nearly 100 people delegation of Pakistani businessmen will also accompany the adviser.

In a video message prior to leaving for Kenya, the foreign minister said that they have invited prominent business personalities to attend the Trade Conference, and we aim at to expand our reach to Africa through exchange of ideas.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that we will increase our trade and investment volume with African Countries by expanding the political and diplomatic ties with them.

The foreign minister said that Kenya is the gateway to Africa, and we are enjoying deep and cordial relations with it.

Furthermore, he said that during his visit to Nairobi, the will also meet with the Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Foreign Minister Dr Monica Juma.

Qureshi said that through the Conference, he will make efforts to further strengthen our ties with other African Countries as well.

The foreign minister also said that all Pakistan’s envoys deployed in various African Countries will also participate in the Conference, and he hopes that it will yield positive results for Pakistan.

Earlier on November 27-28, 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the Envoys’ Conference titled “Engage Africa in Islamabad, aiming at deepening Pakistan’s engagement with Africa in diverse fields in consistent with the vision of the leadership, and priorities of the government.
