NEW DELHI, India: The civil society activists, who staged a Kashmir Solidarity March (Kashmir Yatra) for ‘Restoration of Democracy and Peace’ in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) from Jammu to Srinagar, will release their report in New Delhi on Thursday (December 5) after the conclusion of their March.

The group of 20 yatries (marchers) began the Kashmir Solidarity March on November 26 from Jammu seeking restoration of democracy and peace in J&K. They planned to reach Srinagar by December 1; however, they were not allowed beyond the Jammu region by the police but six of them continued the journey as individuals and managed to enter Srinagar taking the advantage of the dark velvet of night.Kashmir Solidarity Marchers set to release report on J&K situation in New Delhi

The March’s participants observed that contrary to claims of normalcy, civil rights, media freedom and freedom of speech are in peril in the valley. They also observed that education and the local economy in Jammu and Kashmir have been greatly affected.

The yatries will hold a Press Conference in New Delhi on December 5, which also marks the four-month anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu & Kashmir, in which they will release a detailed report based on their observations they gathered during the Kashmir Solidarity March.

The Press Conference will be addressed by the President Jammu and Kashmir Forum for Peace and Territorial Integrity I D Khajuria, the President of Haq Insaaf Party J&K Bilal Khan, the Vice President of the Socialist Party (India) Dr Sandeep Pandey, the General Secretary of Loktantrik Janata Dal (LJD) Arun Srivastava, and a concerned citizen Rajendran Narayanan.
