ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Terming it a serious conspiracy, Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the incident of firing on eminent Islamic Scholar Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani.

Earlier in the day, Mufti Taqi Usmani remained safe in an attack when he along with his wife and two grandchildren was passing through Nursery at Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal. However his driver and one police person were martyred.

In a statement, the prime minister said that the attack on leading personality like Mufti Taqi Usmani is a serious conspiracy and every effort will be made to expose this.

The prime minister said that religious leader like Mufti Taqi Usmani are asset of not of the Country and the Muslim World. He said that provincial governments should ensure foolproof security of Ulema.

Imran Khan expressed satisfaction on reports that Muhammad Taqi Usmani remained safe in the attack and expressed grief over the demise of his security guard.

In the second firing incident involving two armed motorcyclists at Nipa Chowrangi, Maulana Amir Shahab suffered serious wounds and eventually was admitted at ICU Jinnah Hospital. However, his guard Sanobar Khan got martyred in the attack.
