ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: While appreciating the role of media in Pakistan, President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that media is dispensing its duties freely and in a much better way than Indian media.

Talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Newspapers and Editors Forum (APNEF) and Pakistan Journalists Forum (PJF) Arif Alvi in Islamabad on Thursday, the president said that free and independent media is a precious asset in developed societies.

The president said that responsibility of the media is essential along with its independence. He added that responsible media reforms itself in case of missteps.

Dr. Arif Alvi said that media can assess the outlook of future through an effective campaign.

Furthermore, he said that Pakistan has embarked on a path of development and governance will be made transparent and effective.
