ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Communications has ended the exemption granted to lawmakers in all legislatures from paying toll taxes on national highways.

In his regard, a notification has been issued as per the directives of the Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed.

As per the notification, toll tax exemption for Senators as well as members of national and provincial assemblies has been lifted.

The lawmakers have been made liable to pay toll taxes in all highways.

In his remarks, Murad Saeed said that the public representatives will have to pull out of luxurious life and lessen the burden on the common people. He said that the public representatives must pay all toll taxes and set an example for the people.

Murad Saeed said that they will have to adopt the principle of equality instead of discrimination. He urged the elected public representatives all over the Country to pay taxes liable to them while travelling.
