The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has announced to take legal actions against the leadership of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) including its Chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi for causing damage to public properties and taking the law into their hands.
In a Press Conference in Islamabad on Saturday, the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that Khadim Hussain Rizvi has been charged with treason and terrorism at Lahore’s Civil Lines Police Station.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the leadership of TLP including Khadim Rizvi is in protective custody. He said that the TLP Patron-In-Chief Pir Afzal Hussain Qadri has been charged in Gujrat.
The minister said that the TLP leaders Inayatul Haq Shah and Hafiz Farooq Ul Hassan have also been charged with treason and terrorism. He said that the trial of Khadim Rizvi and other persons will be held in the anti-terrorism courts.
The information minister said that they would ensure the protection of the Constitution at any cost. He said that the State can’t allow anyone to breach the Constitutional bar.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khadim Rizvi was taken into protective custody from Lahore on November 23, two days before he planned to address a public gathering at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh.
Besides Khadim Rizvi, the TLP leaders Pir Afzal Hussain Qadri and more than 2,000 TLP workers were also arrested.
