VIENNA, Austria: The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Muhammad Azam Khan Swati has said that Pakistan stands ready to share its expertise in utilizing nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes with other developing Countries through the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) platform. 

Speaking at the first ever Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology organized by the IAEA in Vienna from November 28-30, 2018, Azam Swati highlighted Pakistan’s achievements in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in fields such as power generation, health, industry and agriculture.

The minister said that Pakistan has more than four decades of experience in utilizing nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes.

Azam Swati appreciated the IAEA’s contribution in promoting the peaceful uses of nuclear technology which can help in achieving sustainable development and mitigating climate change.

The Chairman Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) Muhammad Naeem and Pakistan’s Ambassador in Vienna Mansoor Ahmed Khan also are also attending the Conference.

Pakistan is one of the founding members of the IAEA and has been regularly serving on its Board of Governors.
