QUETTA, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi arrived in Quetta on Wednesday on a day-long visit.

Upon his arrival in Quetta, the Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan along with members of the provincial assembly received the president.

The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, the Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and the Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Faisal Vawda were also accompanying the president.

In a meeting with the Governor Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai held after his arrival in Quetta, the president urged the Balochistan government to ensure provision of basic facilities to people in the province.

During the meeting, they discussed overall situation in the province.

The Balochistan governor briefed the president about current law and order situation in the province and the various steps taken to maintain peace and security in the province.

During his stay in Quetta, the president will visit the Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri’s residence and will pay him condolences over his mother’s demise.

The president will also meet the treasury and opposition lawmakers in the Balochistan assembly.
