BEIJING, China: In a meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jinping at Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday, at which entire gamut of Pak-China strategic relations was discussed, Prime Minister Imran Khan lauded his vision and leadership, and said that Pakistan is very impressed the way China has progressed (Imran Khan-Xi Jinping meeting).

“President Xi’s vision and leadership is a role model; our Country is very impressed the way China has progressed,” Imran Khan said, who also thanked President Xi Jinping for extending warm hospitality to him and his delegation upon their arrival. 

Entire gamut of Pak-China strategic relations discussed at Imran Khan-Xi Jinping meeting

The prime minister said that China’s phenomenal achievements are worth emulating. He said that no other Country has tackled poverty and corruption the way China has tackled.

“Pakistan wants to learn from China’s experience in poverty alleviation and curbing corruption,” he said.

The Chinese president while welcoming the prime minster said that Pakistan-China relations have already been strengthening, and now gained momentum. The relationship has not only benefited the two countries but also the region.

Imran Khan extended an invitation to President Xi Jinping to visit Pakistan.

The meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Chinese President Xi Jinping will reinforce shared commitment to take all-weather and time-tested Pak-China friendship to new heights. It would also further strengthen the existing multifaceted equation of the two Countries for the benefit of the two Countries and the region.

The prime minister is also scheduled to meet the President Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun today.

Later, the prime minister will meet the Minister for IDCPC (International Department of the Central Committee, Communist Party of China) Song Tao.

Earlier last night, Prime Minister Imran Khan accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Finance Asad Umar, Minister for Planning Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Adviser to PM on Commerce Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, and Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan reached China on a four-day visit.

Upon his arrival in Beijing, Chinese Minister for Transport Li Xiaopeng, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing and Ambassador of Pakistan to China Masood Khalid received the prime minister.
