ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Advisor on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that the government needs the international financial support to successfully carry out the agenda of Clean Green Pakistan.
Talking to the German Ambassador to Pakistan Martin Kobler in Islamabad on Friday, Amin Aslam said that it’s nearly impossible for the Pakistani government alone to do such massive multi-billion costing projects.
The advisor said that we are asking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to include our green Pakistan vision as agenda item in the deputy foreign ministerial meeting of Pakistan and Germany.
The Pak-German deputy foreign ministerial meeting is scheduled to be held next month to discuss future cooperation modalities in the arena of environment between two Countries.
During the meeting, Amin Aslam apprised the ambassador about the key initiatives of the government to protect the environment and strategic measures being taken to mitigate climate change hazards in Pakistan.

Malik Amin Aslam Khan also informed the ambassador about the salient features of 10 billion tsunami tree plantation drive and Clean Green Pakistan which is being inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on October 13 (tomorrow).
Martin Kobler while appreciating the green vision of the government said that last year he visited three sites of his own choice in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to observe the actual plantation made under one billion tsunami tree project and was happy to see that it was successfully implemented.
The advisor said that Clean Green Pakistan project is being launched to change the behavior of the people so that they would be compelled to think green. Therefore along with plantation we are also focusing on Solid and liquid waste management simultaneously.
The German ambassador applauded the green vision of the incumbent government for the protection of environment including massive plantation and assured his full support in this regard.
