ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Cabinet in its meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday formally gave its approval to convert the Prime Minister’s House into a National University.

Sources said that the meeting held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair to discuss a six-point agenda, which included important matters related to financial policy and signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with other Countries in various fields, also gave its consent for the establishment of an Oil Refinery by Saudi Arabia in Gwadar.

Prime Minister’s House will be converted into National University

The Federal Cabinet meeting also approved the appointment of Major General Arif as the Director General of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

The meeting also decided to withdraw the authority of the Finance Minister to appoint Officials at various institutions.

It was also noted that a Skill University would be established in the Country in Collaboration with Turkey.

During the meeting, views on the Country’s economic and political situation and the mini budget were exchanged. The Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umar gave a briefing to the Federal Cabinet.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed satisfaction over passing of the “The Finance Supplementary (Amendment) Bill, 2018″ in the National Assembly with a majority vote on Wednesday.

The Federal Ministers also presented their performance reports in the Cabinet meeting.

Later briefing the media about the Federal Cabinet meeting, the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that illegal appointments of the former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have been annulled, adding that these appointments were made violating rules and regulations.

The Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed upon signing a MoU on establishment of Oil Refinery in Gwadar. He said that MoU expected to be signed by Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Aramco next month.

Ghulam Sarwar said that China has no objection over the Saudi investment.
