Government of PakistanPM Imran Khan to visit Saudi Arabia soon

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon undertake a visit to Saudi Arabia on his maiden foreign tour since he assumed the Office last month.

The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday as per media reports that dates of the prime minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia haven’t yet been fixed.

Meanwhile according to sources, the prime minister will perform Umrah in Makkah and also pay his respect at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah.

Sources said that during his visit, the prime minister will also meet the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other Saudi dignitaries. They said that arrangements for the prime minister’s visit are being finalized.

Just a few days after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led coalition government took over in the Centre following the 2018 elections triumph, Fawad Chaudhry announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan didn’t intend to visit abroad for at least first three months as he was more determined to purse his 100 days plan proactively.

Fawad Chaudhry even went on to say that the prime minster wouldn’t be attending the UN General Assembly Session in New York in September, and the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi along with a very thin delegation would rather represent Pakistan in the session.
