PoliticsFazl announces mass awareness campaign against rigged polls

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday announced that they would launch a campaign to create awareness amongst the public against the alleged rigging in general elections 2018.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the JUI-F Chief said that the current Prime Minister and Chief Ministers are fake, adding that this government of majority is also fake.

Fazlur Rehman said that the electricity prices have been increased, is this the change you have been raising slogans of? He said that the government has been handed over to the incapables.

The JUI-F Chief said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has failed to hold fair elections; therefore, it should admit its failure. While the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Mohammad Raza Khan must resign. He said that political parties have not accepted the election results.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, whose JUI-F vied in general elections under the umbrella of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), didn’t even succeed to win from his home Constituency, and eventually warned of countrywide protests against alleged rigging and not taking the Oath.

However later not only MMA’s members took the Oath as Parliamentarians but Maulana Fazlur Rehman himself contested the Presidential Elections as well and lost to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr Arif Alvi by 184-352.
