ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday issued the polling day schedule for May 11 elections which states polling would begin at 8am and would remain till 5pm without any break.

The ECP forwarded polling day schedule to all Returning Officers.

Separately, the Commission directed Provincial Election Commissioners to take into consideration all complaints about wrong locations of polling stations in their respective offices.

They were also directed to send their reports on each complaint with their assessment. On receipt of such reports‚ the Commission might pass appropriate orders in its next meeting.

The total number of registered voters this elections is 86,189,802 out of which 37,597,415 are female voters and 48,592,387 are male voters.

A total of 4,671 candidates are contesting for 272 general seats in the National Assembly while 10,958 candidates are contesting for provincial assemblies.
