ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood on Saturday announced to launch National Education Policy 2018 soon, saying education was the topmost priority of the present government in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

While presiding over a briefing the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and its attached Departments held at Committee Room of the Ministry in Islamabad, the minister said they would work in coordination with all provinces and provide education to all as per the Constitution of Pakistan.

The minister said it was their responsibility to give excellent policies and they would take all measures to implement education related policies.

Shafqat Mehmood said all missing standards would be developed and followed in true letter and spirit. He said it was alarming to learn that more than 20 million children were out of schools, adding they would work hard with provinces to increase enrolment rate.

The education minister said skill development was equally important component and their ministry would take it as challenge. He said all vacant positions at the ministry and its attached departments would be filled on purely merit and in transparent manner.

The minister also directed all attached departments to ensure facilitating Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir alongside other provinces in all educational and professional training projects and initiatives.

The Secretary Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Arshad Mirza, senior officers of the ministry and heads of attached department store were present in the meeting.
