KARACHI: Malik Habib says all out efforts are being made to remove reservations expressed by political parties about security.

The government said it will not compromise on law and order and take all steps to hold free‚ fair and peaceful elections.

Addressing a high level meeting in Karachi‚ Interior Minister Malik Habib Khan said all out efforts are being made to remove reservations expressed by political parties about the security of their candidates.

The Minister lauded the courage‚ determination and preparedness of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order all over the country.

Later‚ talking to newsmen after visiting the Headquarters of Pakistan Coast Guards‚ the Interior Minister said all measures would be taken to maintain a conducive atmosphere on the polling day enabling the people to cast their votes independently.

He said law and order situation in Karachi is a matter of concern since long and more steps are being taken to improve security in the city.

Earlier‚ the Minister was briefed about the measures taken by the Pakistan Coast Guards to check illegal activities through sea routes especially during the elections.
