ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Dr Babar Awan has said that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left the judiciary with no option but to penalize him.

“Nawaz Sharif has failed to answer the questions asked by the Accountability Court. The much-publicized claim former PM made about the sources of his wealth on the floor of the parliament has come to naught,” Babar Awan said while commenting on Nawaz Sharif’s statement in the Court hearing references filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Sharif family.

The PTI leader said that Nawaz Sharif and his children failed to produce money trail and details of the sources of their ill-gotten wealth.

“In his statement Nawaz Sharif has disinherited his sons”, Babar Awan said.

Lambasting the former prime minister, Babar Awan questioned that why the self-styled champion of democracy did not challenge Pervez Musharraf’s martial law of October 1999.

Babar Awan further said that Nawaz Sharif braced Modi’s anti-Pakistan narrative for his petty political interests.
