ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Khan on Thursday said the United States was not serious to sort out matters with Pakistan.

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, the minister said Pak-US relations had witnessed new twists.

Khurram Dastgir said the United States had focused on India to counter China, adding the US defense cooperation with India had been enhanced.

The defence minister said Pakistan’s sacrifices should have been acknowledged by the World. He said peace had been restored in the restive Waziristan region due to sacrifices of Pakistan army.

Talking about India, the minister said India had increased ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary.

Dastgir said India committed 650 ceasefire violations in 2018 while in 2017 and 2016, 1701 and 305 ceasefire violations were committed by the Indian forces.

The minister for defence said India was also involved in anti-Pakistan activities in Balochistan.

In addition, he said Pakistan had become the member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He said SCO Countries including Pakistan would hold military exercises in Russia in 2018.

Khurram Dastgir said the defence and military cooperation with Saudi Arabia, China, Turkey and Russia was continuing.
