PoliticsNo space for any new NRO in today's Pakistan: Shah Mehmood Qureshi

MULTAN, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) has already been rejected, and there is no space for any new NRO in today’s Pakistan.

Talking to media in Multan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s narrative is damaging the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The PTI leader said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is my old friend, adding that he is a nice man but has stuck badly. He said that current narrative doesn’t match with the temper of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Qureshi said the prime minister and PML-N has taken a big U-turn.

Moreover, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Nawaz Sharif has been ousted as per the law. He said that there are many competent people in PML-N, and an opportunity should be given to them.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi added that protection of the Constitution and democracy is the Court’s responsibility.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
