PoliticsAll laws made by dictators should be abolished: Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday sought the abolition of all laws made by military dictators, and said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws were also made by the former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

“I will not be looking for the finger of an empire to be raised,” Nawaz Sharif said while talking to media representatives in Islamabad where he along with Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar appeared before an Accountability Court for hearing of Avenfield properties reference.

Nawaz Sharif said he had been paying a price of his ideology.

The former premier further said election should not be delayed even an hour. He also said he had been seeing the discussions being made regarding the interviews and doctrine of the Chief Justice.

Separately in a statement, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz said the Case against Sharif family had been proceeding since seven months but did any of the witnesses give any statement against them.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said none of the witnesses said till today that they had been involved in any corruption.

Meanwhile, the Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir resumed hearing of Avenfield properties reference against Sharif family members.

The prosecution witness and head of six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia will record his statement before the Court. The defense lawyer will cross examine him.
