ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has said that Computerized National Identity Card will be valid for casting of vote even after its expiry.

It said that the function of the NIC is identification that it serves even after the expiry.

The Election Commission has withdrawn proposal of a blank column in the ballot paper.

In a statement‚ the Election Commission said the ballot paper does not contain blank box. It said that legislation is required to include an empty box in the ballot paper.

Meanwhile‚ the Commission has allowed to cast vote to the people whose national identity cards have expired.

It said the ID Card verifies the identification of a person.
