ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Assembly was assured on Friday that culprits involved in the rape and brutal killing of eight-year-old Zainab in Punjab’s Kasur district would be arrested.

“I assure the House that culprits involved in the heinous crime would be behind the bar soon. Joint Investigation team constituted by the government would soon reach the culprits,” the Minister for State Muhammad Talal Chaudhary said while speaking on the floor of the House.

Talal Chaudhry said some suspects had been arrested by the police whose DNA test had also been taken to reach the culprits.

The minister strongly condemned the incident and asked the political parties not to use such an incident for political gains. He asked all the political parties to play their role to make the system strong so that no such incident should take place anywhere in the country.

The state minister said it was also unfortunate that the people had damaged and destroyed the government assets. He said it was unfortunate that local MPAs and MNAs were attacked by the people.

Talal asked the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to constitute a special committee to look into issue like Zainab.

Furthermore, he said the police personal involved in the killing the people in the Kasur incident had been arrested. However, he said individual incident should not be linked with the institution.
