ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and RoboTami Saturday agreed to include robotics in IIUI schools’ curriculum.

It was announced while displaying Working Robotics models in the Nationwide Robotics seminar organized here by the Institute of Professional Development (IPD), International Islamic University Islamabad in collaboration with RoboTami, Dubai.

It was also announced that Korean based company would provide two complementary robotics labs to IIUI, a news release said.

During the seminar more than 200 teachers were trained for use of Robotics in comprehensive education in IIUI schools. International speakers from South Korea, UAE, New Zealand, Philippines participated in the daylong event. 500 delegates from throughout Pakistan participated in the seminar while, faculty members from Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and Faculty of Basic and Applied  Sciences (FBAS) and students also attended the seminar.

Prof Dr Muhammad Bashir Khan, Acting President, IIUI lauded the efforts of Institute of Professional Development, IPD, IIUI and thanked the Robo Tami management for bringing this concept to IIUI in Pakistan.

He reiterated the resolve for provision of best science and technology education in schools focusing on innovation.

The event was attended by Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik, Vice President (HS&R) who felicitated the IPD management upon successful programme. International speakers included Amirah Williams, Cho, Gonely and Burhan.

Khaled Al Aswadi representative of the RoboTami, Dubai presented a memento to the Acting President, Dr Muhammad Bashir and Dr Saeed ul Hassan Chishti, Director IPD, IIUI offering two complementary labs to be setup at IPD, IIUI.

He also showed interest for future collaboration with Faculty of Engineering and Technology, FET, IIUI.

Dr Saeed ul Hasan Chishti, Director IPD, IIUI Schools told that for the first time in Pakistan, Robotics is being included in the curriculum of IIUI Schools from the next session of IIUI Schools.

Saneeha Khalid, Training Management Specialist, Kashif Suhail Malik, Master Trainer, IPD, IIUI and Principals of IIUI Schools, teachers of IIUI Schools from sixty cities across the country also attended the seminar.
