Monitoring Desk: Ankara and Islamabad believe that Afghan civil war is hampering security of the entire region and there is on military solution to the Afghan conflict.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif was here in Ankara on Tuesday for holding talks with Turkish leadership.

According to officials of Pakistan Embassy, Pakistan successfully placed its viewpoint to Turkish leadership and Islamabad believes Afghan civil war is hampering security of Pakistan as well as of entire region.

During his meetings with Turkish President Recip Tayyep Erdogan, Prime Minister Benali Yildirim and Foreign Minister Mevlvut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khwaja Muhammad Asif expressed his concerns over deteriorating security conditions in Afghanistan and US’s rigid stance to deal Afghan issue with might of guns instead of strength of political dialogue.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Foreign Minister Kh. Asif reached Ankara after his meeting with Iranian leadership including Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Monday.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Khwaja Muhammad Asif was accompanied by Gen. (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua who is National Security Advisor of Pakistan and Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tehmina Janjua (both Janjuas having no family link).

Afghan civil war, regional security and bilateral relations were core areas of talks during his meetings with Turkish leadership.

According to Presidential office, both the countries decided to enhance their contact.

According to Pakistan Foreign Office statement, Turkey and Pakistan reiterated that Afghanistan’s neighbours and regional countries needed to work together for facilitating a politically negotiated settlement under an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
