ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In a much appreciative initiative, the federal government has decided to provide free uniform, free school bags, free shoes and lunch to Students in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Schools.

In this regard, a summary is being prepared which will be forwarded to authorities for approval, the Daily Express reported.

Sources said that as per the PM Education Reforms Programme, the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has decided to provide free School accessories and lunch to nearly 200,000 students who are studying in state-run 423 Schools working under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE)

They told that from Class 1 to Class 10, Students would be provided free uniforms, free school bags and free shoes while from Class 1 to Class 5, free lunch would be provided to Students.

Sources said that in order to fulfill nutritional requirements, each Student from Class 1 to Class 5 would daily receive a package containing biscuits, juice and a milk pack during School time. It has also been decided that a strict monitoring system would be devised to ensure quality nutrition.

Similarly, new entrants and those Students who move to next Class would be handed over uniform, shoes, books and school bags.

Talking to the daily, the CADD Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that Maryam Nawaz took personnel interest; therefore, it was decided to include the provision of nutrition to Class 1-5 Students especially from rural areas in PM Education Reforms Programme.
