ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: More than one dozen shops were reduced to ashes in a fire at garments section of Islamabad’s ‘Sasta Bazaar’ on Wednesday morning.

According to a police official, the shops had a large quantity of cloth and wood which caused quick spread of the fire. He said the cause of the fire was still unknown. No loss of life or injuries was reported. The traders claimed they had faced losses of millions of rupees.

The site, situated in Sector H-9 near Peshawar Mor, is visited by scores of residents as it hosts the weekly budget markets.
