Foreign OfficePakistan categorically rejects Indian allegations of infiltration across LoC

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has categorically rejected the Indian standard allegations of infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC).

In a press release issued in Islamabad, the Foreign Office said that the Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr. Muhammad Faisal once again summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and condemned further unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces on July 8.

The ceasefire violations occurred in Chirikot and Satwal Sectors, resulting in additional Shahadats of another three civilians including two women – one in Tetri Note village and the other in Chaffar Village and injuries to one another.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was told that the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.

The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.

While categorically rejecting the Indian standard allegations of infiltration across the LoC, DG (SA & SAARC) emphasized that Pakistan has consistently maintained that it was essential that the United Nations Military Observers group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) should be allowed to play its role as mandated by the UN Security Council resolutions.

It is India which on the one hand routinely alleges infiltration attempts and yet paradoxically denies UNMOGIP to perform its duties, he said.

The DG (SA & SAARC) also said that the Indian attempts to deflect international attention from the worsening situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir due to its repressive measures by heating up the LoC shall fail.
