WASHINGTON: The United States has condemned the terrorist attacks in Pakistan and said that it would continue to work with Islamabad to combat the threat of terrorism.

“We offer our deepest condolences to the victims and their families. We will continue to work with the Government of Pakistan and our partners across the region to combat the threat of terrorism,” according to a statement issued by the US State Department.

“We stand with the people of Pakistan and the broader South Asia region in their fight against terrorism.”

On Friday, at least 63 people were killed while over 200 suffered injuries when multiple blasts struck Balochistan’s Capital Quetta and Parachinar, a City in Kurram tribal region.

Most casualties took place in Parachinar where two bombs went off with short interval in the crowded Tori Market when people were busy in Eid shopping.

Prior to that, a car bomb explosion claimed 13 lives including of seven policemen and a political leader, and injured 21 others at Shuhada Chowk in Quetta.
