LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the summary for induction of 3,271 lecturers and professors in provincial government colleges on regular basis.

As per the summary approved by the Chief Minister, 1,078 female lecturers, 478 female assistant professors, 201 female associate professors, 820 male lecturers, 424 male assistant professors, 197 male associate professors and 42 male professors will be inducted in various colleges in Punjab through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).

The sources said that the Punjab Chief Minister wants to overcome the shortage of teaching staff in provincial colleges to improve quality of education, and the policy for awarding of 05 marks to CTIs (College Teaching Internees) has been revised to remove discrimination among other candidates.

Meanwhile talking to media, the Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada said that after the approval of summary of filling of over 3,000 vacant posts of lecturers and professors in government colleges across Punjab by the Chief Minister, the process of recruitment on these vacant posts will be started soon.
