ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) introduced a new perception of Pakistan, and its relations with China had now been transformed into a strategic partnership.

While talking to the Chief Economist and Professor of China Center for Research Economics at Peking University Justin Yifu Lin in Islamabad, the minister said that the CPEC project had now gained significance not only for Pakistan but also for the entire world.

The minister reiterated that Pakistan wanted to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation with China in diverse areas including trade, investment, education, communication and health.

Ahsan Iqbal said that both Pakistan and China had emerged as the top countries in respect of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). He said that economic significance of Asia was also increasing in the changing world.

In his remarks, the Chinese Chief Economist Justin Yifu Lin said that China considered Pakistan’s development as its own development.

Justin Yifu Lin said that promotion of industrial and trade relations between two Countries would help develop a conducive environment for trade in the region.
