WASHINGTON: The United States says the upcoming general elections in Pakistan will prove a milestone in the country’s history.
Director US National Intelligence James Clapper told a Congressional hearing in Washington that lack of effective tax reforms and collection system impede Pakistan’s progress towards sustainable economic growth.
James informed the House Parliament Select Committee on intelligence that Pakistani security forces have continued counter terrorism action against militants in its tribal areas.
He also lauded Pakistan for its efforts to improve bilateral relations with Afghanistan.
