RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Indian troops on Wednesday resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) at Iftkharabad, Kotli and Kel sectors.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Pakistani troops are befittingly responding to Indian unprovoked firing.

“Heavy exchange of fire which started this evening was continuing” till the filing of this report at 7.15 pm, the ISPR added.

It comes as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today once reiterated Pakistan’s desire to resolve all the outstanding issues with India through composite dialogue.

“Pakistan is a responsible state but its desire of peace should not be considered as its weakness,” the prime minister said while addressing the Joint Session of the Parliament which was convened on Wednesday to discuss Kashmir issue including human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir and the situation arising out of Indian ceasefire violation along the Line of Control.

The prime minister noted that Pakistan’s armed forces are capable to thwart any foreign aggression effectively.
