ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that hearts of both Pakistanis and Chinese people beats together and their destiny is also same.

“Our mutually beneficial collaboration is spread over a wide range of projects in all geographical terrains, from the heights of the Karakoram to the waters of the Arabian Sea,” he said this while speaking at the Forum of Textile and Garments Industry Development, according to a message received from Urumqi, China.

Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan’s relations with China and especially Xinjiang province are already strong as trade and cooperation on socio economic fronts between the two sides have been increasing and Pakistan looks forward to the Special Economic Zones, which surely turn this region into a gateway to Central and South Asia.

He informed that textile industry has been the mainstay of our economy and exports in Pakistan. This sector is providing livelihood to more than 10 million farming families and accounts for 40% of the industrial employment, he added.

The Speaker said that government of Pakistan is currently working on improving the textile industry and its value chain through various initiatives including energy projects, infrastructural and manpower development.

He said that a pro-business investment policy remains a central plank of Pakistan’s strategy.

The investment policy of the government provides for 100 percent equity ownership, full repatriation of capital, tax breaks, customs duty concessions on the import of plant, machinery and raw materials, the Speaker added.
