ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said the government’s Vision 2025 was compatible with world’s sustainable development goals.

Addressing an event held in connection with health – a goal for sustainable development, he said the achievement of sustainable development goals was a national agenda.

Pakistan, he said was the first country which declared world’s goals for the sustainable development as targets for the national development.

The Minister said Pakistan’s parliament had unanimously adopted a resolution in this regard which demonstrated the determination and commitment in this regard.

He said seven pillars of Vision-2025 were connected with the sustainable development goals.

The federal government was working closely with the provincial governments for achievement of these goals, he added.

Ahsan Iqbal said provision of health facilities to every citizen was being ensured, adding, healthy citizens could help build a healthy society.
