South AsiaPakistan continues to glorify terrorism, Balochistan’s people thanked me: Modi

NEW DELHI, India: The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday once again alleged that Pakistan continues to glorify terrorism.

“Many innocents were killed in Peshawar terrorist attack, but there were tears in everyone’s eyes in Parliament here but Pakistan continues to glorify terror,” Modi said while addressing the nation from Ret Fort in New Delhi as the country is celebrating its 70th Independence Day on Monday.

Narendra Modi also mentioned regions of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in his address, saying that people of these regions expressed gratitude to me in recent past.

“People of Balochistan, Gilgit and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) have thanked me a lot in past few days, I am grateful to them. This is the example of our humanitarian approach,” Modi was quoted as saying by Indian media.

“If people of Balochistan thank me, they are thanking the 125 crore Indians,” he added.

Modi became the first Indian prime minister who mentioned Balochistan along with two other regions in an Independence Day address, alleging that Pakistan was committing human rights violations there.

But, on the other hand, Pakistan accuses India of fueling terrorism in Balochistan as last week, the Provincial Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri blamed Indian intelligence agency RAW for being behind the insurgency in Balochistan, making a reference into the recent blast at Quetta’s Civil Hospital.
