ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the government will take all possible steps to make Pakistan Navy a modern potent force to contribute effectively to deterrence and national security across the full conflict spectrum.

In a meeting with the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah who called on him at the PM House in Islamabad on Tuesday, the prime minister appreciated the role of Pakistan Navy in defending the maritime borders of the country.Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah and Nawaz Sharif

The prime minister said that defence capabilities of Pakistan Navy are of paramount importance in regard to our national defence.

The Naval Chief briefed the prime minister about the professional matters pertaining to Pakistan Navy.

Zakaullah said that Pakistan Navy is ready and well equipped to defend vital maritime infrastructure and protect the country against all threats.
