Government of PakistanOpposition exploiting illness of PM Nawaz Sharif: Daniyal Aziz

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Leader Daniyal Aziz has said that opposition parties are also exploiting the illness of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in their favour.

The prime minister is scheduled to undergo an open-heart surgery at a local hospital in London on Tuesday.

“I hope the PM would recover within a few days after the surgery,” Daniyal said while talking to a private news channel adding that rest was must for the prime minister before the surgery.

The PML-N leader said that there is no need that the prime minister should remain in the country regarding the issue of Panama Papers because a committee has already been formed to resolve the matter.

Daniyal Aziz has said that there is no bigger institution than the Supreme Court for delivering justice but the opposition seems more interested in political point-scoring on Panama leaks. He said that the opposition also has realized that the name of the prime minister has not been mentioned in the Panama Papers; therefore, he added, the opposition is trying to harden the position.

“I think, it is part of the process and negotiations would continue between the government and the opposition. A timeframe has been defined to resolve the issue. I hope that the matter will be resolved in upcoming day”, he added.
