ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal has said that all the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects in the country will be completed by 2017.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that work is also underway on the financial matters of TAPI and the project will soon be launched.

He said that government has inked pacts with Iran in connection with the import of gas which delayed due to international embargoes on Tehran. However, the sanctions have been waved from Iran and the deal will be materialized, he added.

He said that government will also set up LNG terminal in Gwadar which will facilitate the import of gas and its distribution throughout the country.

Minister said that all the concerned institutions were directed to complete energy projects as soon as possible and the Prime Minister monitors them himself.

LNG is being imported which is proving helpful in overcoming energy shortage, he added.

He maintain that Sui Northern has chalked out an augmentation plan and it will help us in curbing the energy crisis.

He said that there are huge reservoirs of coal in Thar and its utilization is also under consideration. The overall situation of the country has considerably increased in three years.

To a question, he said that government has played a vital role in education, railway and other sectors. One can easily observe improvement in all the sectors which is due to the performance of the government.

He said that foreign policy of the government has been successful and no other leader has raised the issue of Kashmir the way Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did. Besides, Operation Zarb-e-Azb achieved eminent successes, he added.

He also said that CPEC will open up new horizons of development in the country.

To another question, he said that government will overcome the energy crisis by 2018 and the overall situation of the country is improving which is because of the successful policies of the government.
