QUETTA, Pakistan: The strength of employees of the Balochistan Assembly has exceeded 500 and a bio-metric system is being installed in the provincial assembly premises to ensure the attendance of the staff.

The assembly officials told this to the Public Accounts Committee of the Balochistan Assembly which met with its Chairman, Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai here at the assembly premises.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Education, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, MPA, Syed Liaquat Ali Agha, MPA, Tahir Mehmood, Additional Secretary Finance, Lal Jan, Director General, Audit, Nasrullah Jan and other officials.

The committee reviewed the audit reports of the Balochistan Assembly for year 2005-06.

It was told the meeting that the Balochistan Assembly had over 500 employees and a bio-metric system was being installed to check the attendance of the staff. The Chairman PAC instructed to stop the salaries of absentee employees besides taking action against them. The PAC directed that rent dues of rooms of MPA hostel outstanding against members Balochistan Assembly must be paid immediately otherwise further proceedings would be carried out.

The PAC also reviewed audit reports of Police Department from year 2005 to 2009.
