ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The US President Barack Obama Wednesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Pakistan had shown great progress in the war against terrorism.

President Obama, who phoned the Prime Minister to extend condolences on the Lahore tragedy, said the United States acknowledged and appreciated his (Nawaz Sharif’s) leadership in the anti-terror effort and believed that Pakistan would succeed in this war.

According to a press release issued by the PM’s Media Office here, the US President extended condolences on behalf of the people of United States on the Lahore tragedy and requested the Prime Minister to convey his feelings to the affected families.

President Obama said the people of United States were with the government and the people of Pakistan in the tragic moment and they would extend every help to Pakistan to eliminate terror from its soil.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the invisible enemy was killing innocent people, who were soft target for them due to their broken infrastructure.

He said his resolve and his nation’s resolve was getting stronger day by day. The Pakistani nation, he added, would win the war against that invisible enemy and extremist ideology.

President Obama appreciated the Prime Minister’s decision to stay back with his nation in the testing time by not attending the Nuclear Security Summit.

The US President told the Prime Minister that they would meet in near future and he was eagerly waiting for that meeting.
