ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Member National Assembly (MNA) Jamshaid Dasti on Wednesday launched his own political party ‘Awami Raj Party’.

Addressing a press conference here at National Press Club (NPC), he said the country was facing the challenges of illiteracy, poverty, unemployment and injustice, and his party would make all-out efforts to address the same.

He called for introducing presidential system in the country where the head of state could be elected directly through public vote.

Dasti said the elimination of VVIP culture and corruption was his top priority to put the country on the path of prosperity.

He said the party would work to bring reforms in judicial, educational, local government, police, labor laws and tax systems.

He said he would work for the rights of minorities and launch new projects for the construction of dams.
