ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan in collaboration with United States of America (USA) is working on ‘Knowledge Corridor’ aimed at promoting quality of education in Pakistan.

It was stated by Programme Manager United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP), Salim Abdur Razaq in a U.S government-funded Global Undergraduate (Global UGRAD) Programme held here Wednesday.

Talking to APP he said “USA is taking keen interest to offer scholarships to Pakistani students as the number is continuously increasing for the last five years.”

As many as 127 undergraduates from all over the country will begin their journey to study in the U.S on the Global UGRAD Programme for the year 2015-16.

The group of these 127 Pakistani students of the 2015 cohort would depart early in January 2016.

Most of the students were selected from the remote areas of the Pakistan and they would pursue degrees in a wide variety of disciplines.

Nikeeta Bay, a student of Chankah Medical University Larkana shared that she was eager to avail the chance of studying in one of the best universities of the USA.

“I am ambassador of Pakistan and will promote the culture and soft image of my country in USA,” she remarked adding, “It would also get the chance to understand American culture and cement people-to-people contacts between both the countries.
