ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) is initiating a dialogue with private institutions in the Federal Capital to introduce occupation-specific skills education.

As regard private educational institutions, there is less focus on imparting occupation-specific skills education, except for computer knowledge.

Sources at Capital Administration and Development Division on Monday said the government has taken necessary steps for imparting occupation specific skills education system (Technical Education) in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and introduced Electrical Wiring, Woodwork, Dress Making & Hardware Metalwork and Motor Winding technologies in various institutions under Federal Directorate of Education.

Moreover, the sources said, one vocational institution located in G-7/4, Islamabad is also imparting technical education in disciplines including Electrical Wiring, Plumbing, Welding and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
