PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education Muhammad Atif Khan on Monday annoyed over the delay in long awaited “Tameer-e-School” program of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) led government and directed the authorities concerned to ensure implementation on the said program and submit its progress report in the next meeting.

Tameer-e-School is a programme through which interested individuals and organizations can donate funds towards the improvement of deserving government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was presiding over a meeting to review implementation of Tameer-e- School Program, the minister became angry with the authorities concerned over delay in execution of the program, said a press release.

The meeting beside others, was also attended by the Secretary Education Ali Raza Bhutta, Additional Secretary and authorities concerned of the relevant departments.

Under the said program, missing facilities like drinking water, boundary walls, additional rooms, toilets, furniture and computer labs were being provided to Government run schools as identified by the education department, in collaboration with donors and philanthropists.

Minister said “KP is spending 27.4 per cent of its budget on education and committed to giving pen in the hands of each and every child of the province.”

It is to mention here that the KP Government’s Elementary Education Foundation (EEF) would serve as the focal organization for the programme and would be responsible for facilitating contributions and liaising with supporters and schools to achieve desired school improvement outcomes.

Other responsibilities would include creating an interface for supporters, the government, and schools, and providing oversight, quality control, and monitoring.
