ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Higher Education Commission (HEC) has sought applications from students for awarding laptops under Prime Minister laptop Scheme Phase II.

Those students are eligible for this programme who are studying in Phd, MS, M.Phil and admitted in one or two-year Masters degree programme.

The HEC also invited applications from those students who are students of four or five years programme and Allama Iqbal Open University or Virtual University under distance learning programme and students of FATA and Federal Capital government degree or post graduate colleges students are also eligible to apply for this programme.

Technical colleges students of Diploma of Associate Programme are also asked to apply for Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.

Talking to APP on Monday an official said provincial distribution would be made according to enrolment and 2.5 percent quota is allotted for virtual university and Allama Iqbal university students.

He said five percent quota is for government Poly Technical students and Islamabad and FATA degree and post graduate students is also given five percent quota under Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.

He said eligible students can apply through on line http://pmnls.hec.gov.pk and further information are available at www.hec.gov.pk/laptops

Last date for application submission is December 15.
