KHAIRPUR: Renowned saint poet Sachal Rarmast’s 192nd annual Urs celebrations have started in Khairpur area of Sindh.  The caretaker of shrine Sakhi Qabool Farooqi washed the tomb and spread new sheet to launch annual celebrations at mausoleum of saint poet.
Sindh government will announce official start of Urs tomorrow with public holiday on the eve. Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah will pay visit to the shrine of Sachal Sarmast and spread a new sheet on his grave.
Followers of saint poet from app parts of the province have started to reach at the shrine to attend annual Urs rituals while local administration has beefed up security to avoid any mishap on the occasion.
Saint poet Sachal Sarmast had born in 1739 at a small village Draza in former State of Khairpur. Sachal Sarmast’s poetry collections are available in many languages including Urdu, Sindhi, Arabic, Persian and Saraeki.
