KIEV, Ukraine: At least 14 persons including 10 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in violent clashes which took place between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russia forces in the country’s eastern town of Shakhtersk.

In a statement on Friday, the Ukrainian military spokesman Oleksiy Dmytrashkivsky said that the 10 bodies were confirmed to be Ukrainian soldiers and the remaining four have not yet been identified.

It comes as the military said it was re-launching a broader offensive against pro-Russia forces following a day-long ceasefire.
